I couldn’t have put it better myself. This album has been a huge part of my life ever since I first heard it. I was also at that Rotten Records show At Peabody’s Down. What a night. I also saw them at Peabody’s Cafe in Cleveland Heights, of all the strange places to host a southern death metal band. Luckily I had two friends that were as obsessed with them as I was to drive me there. I have a mix cd I made back in 2002. I named it “It’s OK.” I used to trade CD-R mixes back then, and no one understood the murderous sub tones of the phrase that Derrick imparted on those words. I’m sure you do.

I was at that second show too! Was it called The Rhythm Room by that point? Either way what a night. They popped a breaker during a song and had to start over.

There was one more show at the Agora Theater with a bunch of other Death Metal bands. I think Grave was one of them. I’ll have to look it up to remember who else. I think this may have been the first time they played in Cleveland but I could be wrong.

Yes. World Series of Metal or something? I missed that one, but that's the one my friends saw that had us going to Peabody's for the DRI Rotten Records showcase tour. My ears rang for three days after that Peabody's show. That's when I started wearing earplugs to shows too, come to think of it.

I first heard acid bath in like 95 or 96, I was in 9th grade and I'm 41 and still listen to them on a daily basis. They definitely did bring people together to share their perfect sludgy sound and awesome time sig changes. They are one of a kind and yeah while the lyrics are sometimes not for just everyone, they are beautiful and exciting. Thanks for doing this review decades after they began. One of the best bands in metal and awesome they still get the credit they deserve.
