The Thrill of the Podcast and the Return of the Pumpkins (Maybe?)
On our latest episode we dive into Pumpkins and Los Campesinos! among other things. I'm having the time of my life making this show with Andrew.
It's an absolute thrill to dive into the world of music and running (sometimes at the same time!) with my good friend Andrew on our podcast. Each episode is a journey, filled with unexpected detours and lively discussions. This latest one was no exception!
Episode Recap: Running, Rock, and Rejuvenation
We kicked things off by sharing our recent experiences with half marathons, the ups, the downs, and the killer playlists that got us through. (Seriously, the right playlist can make or break a run.)
Then, we shifted gears to a topic near and dear to our hearts: music. With the Smashing Pumpkins' new album, "Agorimori May," on the horizon, we delved into the band's legacy, Billy Corgan's artistic vision, and the challenges of staying true to your sound while still evolving. We also explored how bands like Pearl Jam and Los Campesinos have navigated these waters.
Of course, no music discussion would be complete without a deep dive into specific albums. We gushed over Los Campesinos' latest release, "All Hell," and talked about the brilliance of music critic Ian Cohen. And, as always, we couldn't resist sharing our hopes (and frustrations) with the Smashing Pumpkins' sometimes unpredictable trajectory.
To wrap things up, we pondered the magic of seeing aging musicians perform live. From Frankie Valli to Mick Jagger, there's something truly special about witnessing these icons continue to rock the stage. But at what point should they quit and give the stage to the next generation?
