We dive deep into music with a deeply personal bent and perspective

Welcome to The Album of Record by me, Craig Lyndall. I’ll be writing about my favorite music of all time and some of the current albums that have my attention. For each post on this site, each week, it will be The Album of Record.

For me, music is deeply personal, as it probably is for you as well. I’ll be weaving personal anecdotes whenever possible. I’m in my 40s. I’m a husband and father of two boys, aged 11, and 9. This is my perspective today, but I’ll be going back in time to try and accurately recreate the feelings and perspectives I had as a younger man when I fell in love with this music.

Other things about me? Needless to say, I’m a huge music fan. I’ve been a mediocre gigging musician in a band. I am a mediocre drummer, a mediocre guitarist, and a slightly better-than-mediocre singer. My band was called The Company Line and I played guitar and sang. My background isn’t that special, but it enables me to geek out to a degree that some might not be able to.

My plan is to write weekly and do a podcast. The podcast is scripted and will be in season form. It will be interspersed with clips, so don’t think it will just be me reading essays. I’ve written six episodes for Season One. Intermixed with those episodes, I’ll probably have some more timely reviews and conversations.
